Working Per Diem can give you the joys of AGENCY. As a Per Diem nurse; you make your own schedule, working when you want to work. If you say NO to a shift, it IS ok - it is never like that at any hospital you worked as staff. Getting paid daily is certainly a treat. Making more money than you had ever made but after awhile you learn of cancellations so... the panic when you have been cancelled 2 days in a row, and you still have your bills to pay, is the hazards of per diem staffing. But this can be solved by getting placed in a LOCAL LONG TERM CONTRACT!

Travels...
Travel the country working in many different settings for many different companies. See New England in the fall - what a beautiful site. Tour Washington DC and Philadelphia, the mountain ranges in California are awesome, and the drive from Monterey to LA on the Pacific Coast Highway is absolutely breathtaking. Spend time in upper Michigan for the first snow, or Manhattan for the spring is something else- the shopping is incredible! Do Key West at the end of summer - you have to experience a Key West sunset. Work in busy ER's, less stressful PACU's, and no stress clinics. Travel Nursing gives you so many opportunities, options and choices.
The Truth...
Traveling with many companies you learned the in's and out's of choosing the right company. What a real 'benefits' package was and what was acceptable to ask for as a traveler. Recruiters you trust just know what you want and need and tell you the truth! Travel Nursing is wonderful but also has it's disadvantages if you are with a company you can't trust!
