Can I really design my own travel package?
Sure you can! After all, it's your assignment and your money. You want $45 an hour/tax advantage instead of housing, you want a big bonus, a car allowance instead of a round trip ticket? We will work with you to get you what you deserve and desire as a traveling healthcare professional.
Do I chose my benefits?
Suwannee Medical is unique. We customize our benefits plan for each specific traveler. We believe you travel for lots of reasons; therefore, you should decide what is best for you.
Where can I go?
We have national contracts across the country. Some enjoy the fast pace of a large teaching hospital in a metropolitan city while others enjoy a more rural setting. We have assignments in hospitals, long term care facilities, correctional facilities, military bases and more.
How much can I expect to get paid?
Your payrates will vary from assignment to assignment. Rates are usually between $25.00 an hour to $50.00 an hour depending on what part of the country you travel to and what type of package you put together.
Payment options?
We offer all our travelers weekly direct deposit or pay cards. Alternate payment methods are available upon request.
Travel allowance?
We offer assistance with travel cost up to $500.00 round trip. Your reimbursement will be paid on a tax deferred basis in your first salary payment.
Licensing?
We do assist you with licensing in each state that you work in. We will also assist you in the entire application process. We reimburse you up to $200.00 per license.
Retirement?
We offer 401K with 25% company match.
Medical Insurance?
Medical Insurance is offered for you as a traveler and your dependents for a nominal fee.
What about professional coverage?
Suwannee Medical offers at no charge Workers Compensation and Medical Malpractice Insurance to all employees on assignment.
Bonus Plans?
You can choose to have a completion bonus at the end of your assignment up to $1000.00 in addition we also pass on any completion bonus that is offered by the facility. A Sign on Bonus is available for all new candidates paid after 90 days of employment. Check with your recruiter for special bonus plans currently being offered. Our own travelers are, by far, our best means of advertisement. They know we do what we say and thier endorsement is invaluable. Tell your friends and co-workers about Suwannee. Once they sign on and complete an assignment, you will receive $300.00.
Housing? Is it private or shared?
You choose! We can make arrangements for you to have private housing and utilities. Again, how you decide to live and where is up to you. You never have to share, that is a personal choice. A generous housing subsidy is available tax free if you decide to share housing with a friend. If you choose to make your own arrangements, travel by RV or stay with family or friends while on assignment, you will be entitled to tax advantage pay.
Does Suwannee Medical withhold taxes from my check?
Yes, we withhold all applicable state and federal taxes so you don't have to worry at the end of the year. We are an employer. Travelers provided to our clients are not viewed as sub-contracted labor.
How long are travel assignments?
Most assignments are between 8 and 13 weeks, but we do get orders as short as 4 weeks.
Can I work part time if I'm taking a break from the road?
Sure! Suwannee Medical has per diem work available in many states.
How do I choose which assignment is best for me?
Based on your skill level, qualifications and desired location, your recruiter will make suggestions for assignments. Once you have narrowed your options, you begin the interviewing process at the facilities you choose that are interested in you.
What are the minimum requirements?
You must be a graduate of an accredited program for your specialty and have at least one year of experience in a specific clinical setting.
How do I apply?
On line, mail, fax or by visiting a local branch in your area. Once your application is submitted complete, a recruiter will contact you with available assignments.
If I submit my application, am I obligated and do you share my information?
No you are not obligated and your information is never shared with a client without your permission.
